APT CONTROLS GROUP EXHIBITS FULL RANGE OF TECHNOLOGY AT PARKEX 2011

(PARKEX 2011) On stand P30, APT Controls Group, the UK's premier provider of parking, traffic and security systems, is to exhibit its full range of parking solutions at Parkex 2011. These include APT Skidata's Plato Pay next generation barrier-less parking management system, alongside a new suite of products for electrical vehicles from sister business, APT Technologies. Sister company, SignPost Solutions will also be exhibiting (on stand F40) a selection of traffic engineering products and passive safety roadside structures.

The APT Skidata pay-on-foot stations on display include its proven Easy.Cash system, the smaller Credit.Cash technology for cashless parking and the newly launched premium model Power.Cash. Whilst all three have specific advantages depending on the application, all benefit from APT Skidata's automated ticket processing technology. As such they are capable of handling multiple media for vehicle registration; including smartcards, magstripe cards, contactless cards, long range embedded vehicle tags, ANPR, barcode tickets, Mobile phone Near Field technology (NFC), as well as embedded 2–D bar coding technology for Mobile and Print@Home facility.

APT will also be exhibiting the new generation back office and hosted platforms (S'WEB), which includes Management Information Services, Operator Services and Sales Services.

In addition to the ‘traditional' pay-on-foot systems, APT Skidata will showcase its Plato Pay multi-function kiosk and web hosted payment & reporting service, to demonstrate how barrier-less parking can be managed with the use of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology and intelligent software. Plato Pay also offers the ability to open additional business sales channels, such as bus ticketing in a park and ride facility or cinema reservations in a hotel environment.

APT Skidata also offers a range of products to help customers reduce their carbon footprint within a parking facility, these include, Variable Message Signage (VMS), Bay Monitoring and LED Lighting. All of which can be linked to the extensive range of Skidata parking products.

Complementing APT Skidata's parking technology will be APT Technologies' range of EVolt charging points for electrical vehicles, which have only recently been launched and are already proving a success.

The EVolt range, which integrates with the Skidata range of pay on foot equipment, comprises a number of product types: charging points for use in domestic, on-street or workplace applications, fast charging points, for use while undertaking daily routines (eg shopping, leisure activities etc) with a charging time of sub 60-minutes; and rapid charging points when only a few minutes are required to recharge a vehicle mid-journey.

Dermot Murphy CEO of APT Controls Group says that the technologies on show offer parking specialists a new way of thinking: “Plato Pay and our EVolt technologies clearly show how our business continues to innovate, and find new solutions to current and future challenges.”

Another member of the APT Controls Group – SignPost Solutions – will also be exhibiting on stand F40, adjacent to APT.
